Ensemble Makadam – Seven movements No.4

Ensemble Makadam – Seven movements No.4

2019. In the work Seven, Henrik Strindberg has stuck to the ensemble’s way of approaching written and vice versa in his own improvisations. The work is presented during Svensk musikvår in March 2019.

Henrik Strindberg is writing: The idea of the work: to work with composition and improvisation. Two sets are available in two variants, each: impromptu. First, it was compiled through an algorithm. In the next step, the same algorithm constitutes the instructions for an improvisation. In addition to these four sets, there are two fully composed sets, as well as a set that can be played either as a fully composed, or as a composed string set with an improvised piano solo. Will it be obvious which phrases are improvised and which are through-composed?
